Secretary For The Future:
The secretary for the future project helped us learn to make predictions, and study about the potential future. We started the project by learning about our environment, we studied ecosystems, biomes, and biodiversity. This in the end helped us make predictions about our specific location we chose for our project. Work days were alternated in between days where we learned about these topics.
The official project was to change an uninhabited place in our town, and predict what would happen to what we built/changed on the site. My group and I chose to create an outdoor classroom/ retreat for adults and students. We made a policy change for our area, Rush Creek Preserve in Novato, California. This area is next to a large wetland. We wanted to build 6 cabins for students and staff, a kitchen, and bathrooms. We also made new trail paths, and plan on adding more trees to increase the biodiversity in the area. This project helped me learn how to make accurate predictions.

Reflection:
The secretary of the future project was challenging at first, but rewarding in the end. My group and I created a solid product that was interesting and unique.
My group and I finished by the end of ten work days, a complete outdoor retreat center. This task was ambitious but we finished. There were a lot of new things I learned through this project about the environment. I never knew how each species affects us as a whole. This helped my group plan our project and take into account every aspect of the land around us.
I believe I collaborated very well with my group. We all were able to agree on a specific plan that was cohesive of all of our ideas. This helped create a full, well thought out plan that was deep in progress. We could all work together without major problems. Another thing I did well was time management. My group and I finished on time without any rush. I was never stressed that we wouldn't finish. This created a relaxed environment that helped us dig down into our project. One thing I struggled with was staying focused during every work day. It was hard for me to keep on task for the entire class period. I would get distracted and talk instead of working. I should improve my focus by staying on task all the time. The second thing I should work on is my patience. I got tired and annoyed when I was trying to figure out a difficult problem. This didn't help advance our project and I couldn't move forward.
Overall, this project was enjoyable and informational. I got to learn new things from my peers that I had never known before, and got to teach new things to my group mates.
